Why is Profit important to me?

If you have been following me for even a little while you would know I talk about Profit constantly and it occurred to me that for some people that might seem a little off putting.

You see we have consistently been bombarded by the media that Profit is bad.  We hear time and time again about big businesses making all this profit, usually paying little to no tax and taking over and out the little mum and dad businesses along the way. 

Profit = evil faceless corporations for many of us.

Profit is usually reserved for the big multinational businesses and not something that was in reach for the small business owner.

Prior to becoming a certified Profit First coach and bookkeeper over five years ago that is what I thought too.

So what does profit really mean for me and my small businesses and you and your trades business?

• Choice - to regularly donate to various charities and causes of our choosing.

• Choice - to travel with our family and still be able to run our businesses from wherever we are.

• Choice - the choice to take time out of our day to visit our children at school when they have an event or our parents when they need us.

• Choice - to build our businesses to support the income we need to support the lifestyle we chose.
